On June 23 and 24, 2025, the third annual conference of the Bulgarian Council for Economic Analyses will take place. The event is jointly organized by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria and Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski.” The official opening will be held in the Aula Magna of the Rectorate of Sofia University on June 23 (Monday) at 09:00.
The conference will feature presentations on key economic topics related to monetary and fiscal policy, the labor market, the real estate market, financial markets, inflation, and economic growth. Participants include researchers from leading academic and international institutions, such as the European Central Bank, the University of Toronto, the University of Minnesota, the University of Hawaii, the University of Tübingen, the University of California, the Bank for International Settlements, the Dutch, Austrian, and German central banks, WIFO, Sofia University, and others.
The program includes both academic sessions as well as sessions and policy panels focused on economic policy in Bulgaria. Highlights include:
- Policy panel on “Bulgaria in the Eurozone: Prices, Investment, and Fiscal Policy”
- Presentation of the Council’s 2024 Annual Report
- Keynote lecture by Prof. Kjetil Storesletten (University of Minnesota) on “Fiscal Progressivity of U.S. Federal and Local Governments”
